Mandatory – account in the national registry of carbon units.

Types of auctions

1. Standard auction – initial sale of allowances by the government – an auction held by the authorized body for the allocation of allowances and selling the reserve if needed
2. Anonymous auction – secondary market – trading of allowances / reduction units between emitters

Goods:

1. State-issued allowances – issued by the government on the basis of a national allocation plan for a certain period
2. GHG emission reduction unit – obtained as a result of a project to reduce GHG emissions

Size = 1 ton of СО2

Trading schedule:

Auctions of the secondary market are held daily.

The time of the trading session is from 11.00 to 13.00 Nur-Sultan time.

Orders are submitted to the system in lots. One lot contains 1 metric ton. Specifications with contracts are in the information section.

To participate in the auction, the Buyer / Seller must sign an agreement with a brokerage company to represent interests at the CCX (paragraph 2 of Article 11, subparagraph 17) of Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Commodity Exchanges” dated May 4, 2009 No. 155-IV).

If Buyer / Seller decides to participate in the auction on his own behalf, it is necessary to be accredited as amemberof CCX in accordance with the membership regulations. In addition, it is necessary to register at the national registry of greenhouse gas emissions.
