Caspian Commodity Exchange and the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange Signed a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation

The Caspian Commodity Exchange and the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange have signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation. The document lays the foundation for the development of bilateral trade, exchange of experience, and implementation of joint projects.

The memorandum signing ceremony took place on March 5, 2025, in Astana, with the participation of representatives of both exchanges and government officials.

The signing of the Memorandum became a significant event aimed at deepening cooperation between two leading exchanges of the region.

The document provides for the implementation of joint projects, modernization of trading mechanisms, and introduction of innovative solutions that will enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the integration of commodity market participants.

“The signed Memorandum opens up broad prospects for cooperation. This is not just a formal step — it is a real opportunity for our exchanges to share best practices, develop trade, and contribute to the economic growth of our countries. We are confident that our joint efforts will lead to the creation of a more transparent and dynamic trading environment,” said Murat Kadisov, President of JSC “Caspian Commodity Exchange”.

Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC “Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange” Alexander Osmolovsky also expressed confidence in the prospects of joint initiatives: “This Memorandum is the result of our common strategy for the development of the international exchange market. It will lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation and create favorable conditions for trading participants, enabling them to access the global market more effectively.”

The parties also emphasized that the signed document will serve as a basis for the creation of new and efficient trading mechanisms, which will have a positive impact on trade relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

BACKGROUND

JSC “Caspian Commodity Exchange” is a leading exchange platform in Kazakhstan, specializing in the trading of a wide range of commodities, including petroleum products, coal, and cement. The Caspian Commodity Exchange is an associate member of the European Association of Energy Exchanges (EUROPEX). It holds an ESG rating from the international rating agency S&P Global and is the first exchange platform in the CIS to become a full participant of the UN Global Compact.

OJSC “Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange” is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe, established to ensure a transparent and competitive trading environment. The exchange actively develops export-import operations, facilitating access of international participants to the Belarusian market. It is the largest spot exchange in Eastern Europe. More than 500,000 transactions worth over USD 4 billion are concluded annually on the BUCE, with a client base exceeding 35,500 participants.
