Letter from the President of JSC "Caspy Commodity Exchange"

The Republic of Kazakhstan has a greenhouse gas emission regulation system, under which the country has committed to reducing emissions by 15-20% and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Fulfilling these goals requires the participation not only of large industrial companies but of all participants in economic activity.

JSC "Caspy Commodity Exchange" is the first organized platform for trading CO₂ emissions in the post-Soviet space and has been ensuring the functioning of the secondary market of carbon units for over eight years. Since 2019, the Exchange has been included in the official KASE listing and shares the principles of sustainable development and ESG.

Despite the lack of legislative obligations, JSC "Caspy Commodity Exchange" has made a voluntary decision to achieve carbon neutrality. The Exchange annually conducts an inventory of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, implements measures to reduce them, and offsets residual emissions with carbon units from voluntary markets.

With this step, the Exchange demonstrates a responsible position and calls on the business community to actively participate in the decarbonization process.

Sincerely,
President of JSC "Caspy Commodity Exchange"
Murat Kadissov

Digitalization

Innovation and digital transformation are central to our strategy as they are a key competitive advantage, an integral part of sustainable development, and a driver of corporate economic efficiency.

The President of the Exchange is responsible for overall management of the company's activities in the field of innovation and digitalization.

We implement automation and digitalization projects in various areas, provide key clients and exchange bidding participants with reliable and secure information and technical services, including the provision of market data in real-time. Our main task is to ensure the uninterrupted operation of trading and information systems and, if necessary, promptly respond to possible adverse situations. We believe that the digitalization of procurement procedures and business processes can contribute to the further low-carbon integration of the exchange, its clients, and counterparties.

Among the digital solutions implemented on the Exchange, it is worth noting a unique electronic trading platform (ETP) that allows efficient procurement of goods, works, and services. The ETP provides information interaction (synchronization) with the National Registry NADLoC. The Exchange also has its own call center to support market participants.

For the effective management of innovation and digitalization, there are subsidiary companies engaged in the development and support of digital trading systems, including separate systems for various business entities.

In particular, one of the subsidiary companies, FSD LLP, is the developer of electronic trading systems and their software, including auctions with open and closed forms of submitting price proposals for increasing or decreasing prices, tenders, public offers, requests for quotes, and exchange trades. These ETPs allow for integration with a variety of corporate systems, including SharePoint, 1C, and SAP.

To automate and manage the procurement activities of commercial companies, FSD LLP has also introduced the "Smart Procurement" cloud service. In addition, the company operates a testing laboratory accredited by the National Accreditation Center LLP to verify the compliance of informatization objects with information security requirements.
